Come Again is a social respite program where people in early to middle stages of dementia spend time with trusted, trained volunteers in a safe, judgment-free space. We aim to bring joy, friendship, and purpose to everyone while giving care partners a chance to rest. Activities include fellowship, music, art, movement, and service projects, plus a hot lunch. Starting May 1, Come Again meets every Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2311 Elizabeth Ave. There is a small fee to attend. Come Again honors our loved ones living with dementia by lifting up their remaining strengths in a supportive, creative and purposeful way. The USA’s Largest All-Volunteer, Non-Profit, Whole Hog BBQ Pig Cookin’, invites you to join us for two days of food, fun, and springtime celebrations!

Join the Newcomers Club of New Bern and Alumni Group of Newcomers (AGN) for their monthly meeting on Thursday, April 9, at 7 p.m. at 311 Middle St. in downtown New Bern.

The speakers will be Craven County Sheriff Chip Hughes and a representative from the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 20-4.
Anyone who has moved to the New Bern area in recent years is welcome to attend the meeting to learn more about Newcomers and AGN.

Want to take home some of that spring blooming splendor? The Spring Heritage Plant Sale will be held Friday and Saturday on the Daves House Lawn just inside the Palace main gate.

This annual plant sale offers a selection of plants grown locally and in the Palace’s nursery yard, as well as a wide variety of annuals, heirloom vegetables, perennials, herbs and other spring favorites.

The Spring Heritage Plant Sale opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 5:00 PM. Come early for best selection!
