On October 24, Sheppard Memorial Library Director Roman Leary will perform a one-man presentation of E.F. Benson’s classic dark story of the supernatural: Mrs. Amworth. Mrs. Amworth is newly arrived in the village - which everyone finds quiet and charming … except for the strange epidemic gripping the area. The local doctor is sure the problem is biting insects, but others think something (or someone) more sinister may be doing the biting! This performance is the inaugural event in an annual series A Night in Ghostly October which brings Friends (old and new) into the public library to celebrate both the season and the community of book lovers that make Sheppard Memorial Library special. For over 30 years, Friends of Sheppard Memorial Library have provided support to the library. Thousands attend the Friend's Book Sale every spring and now many of those book lovers can now come together for a bit of ghostly Autumn fun.
