The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary (CGAUX) is the uniformed citizen volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard. All of our missions are operated as directed by the Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard or the Secretary of Homeland Security. Auxiliarists provide crucial non-law enforcement and non-military support to the U.S. Coast Guard land, sea and air missions. There are four general task areas served by the Coast Guard Auxiliary: Recreational Boating Safety, Operations, Marine Safety and Mission Support. The CGAUX has units in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Guam.

The 40th Annual North Carolina Seafood Festival is one of the area’s most popular, drawing in more than 200,000 people to Morehead City. The festival provides residents and visitors alike with great entertainment, family fun, and most importantly, the best seafood you’ve ever tasted. Food lovers have the chance to sample just about every piece of seafood imaginable or learn how to prepare their own with chef cooking demonstrations. The North Carolina Seafood Festival also features amusement rides, music concerts, a road race, pier fishing tournament, and a sailing regatta. For food, you’ll find seafood such as calamari, “Down East” clam chowder, and charcoal mullet, as well as carnival classics like funnel cakes and even a wide array of desserts. Live music is offered at three different stages with continuous acts playing, all of which are free to attend. There are carnival rides and arcade games for the kids.

The 12th annual Ol' Front Porch Music Festival at the riverfront in Oriental, NC is Friday and Saturday Oct. 2-3, 2026. Free this year and every year, it showcases a dynamic mix of nationally touring artists and regional favorites. Music begins Friday at 1pm and Saturday at 11am on the Riverfront Stage on the Neuse River and on porches throughout Oriental. Final Riverfront shows each day start at 5pm. Golf cart shuttles along the festival route provided. Americana, bluegrass, zydeco, roots, Latin, gospel, jazz, country, folk. Not just great music. Eclectic mix of arts and craftsmen. And it's a foodie destination!

Open every Saturday, April 11 - November 28th. The Onslow County Farmers Market connects local farmers & ranchers, food producers, and artisans with the community. Shop seasonal produce, meats, eggs, baked goods (including gluten free options), honey and handmade artisan products.
We accept SNAP/EBT and SUNbucks. We participate in NC Farmers Market Nutrition program providing produce to eligible WIC families and seniors.
