The First Friday ArtWalk is celebrated on the first Friday of each month. It is a time to enjoy Downtown’s eclectic mix of restaurants, galleries, shops, and live music venues along your stroll! Enjoy amazing artwork, live music, delicious food, and local beer.
The FREE Emerald Express Trolley will run from 5:00pm – 9:00pm during all Downtown Greenville First Friday ArtWalks! Hop aboard our scenic trolley tour circulating through Downtown Greenville from Dickinson Avenue to ECU’s Main Campus, making a full ArtWalk route loop approximately every 20 minutes (construction may affect this timing).
Park your car and ride the trolley to meet up with friends and explore your city. You can hop on and off at any stop!

Don’t miss the classic favorite The Nutcracker Ballet produced by Down East Dance that brings a child’s fantastical Christmas Eve dream to life with a dizzying array of dancing dolls, toys, creatures and, of course, the nutcracker. It’s a New Bern holiday season tradition.

Community Connections: Performance and Lecture Series bridges Elizabeth City State University and community. Our mission is to produce cultural experiences which can be enjoyed by students, faculty, and staff, as well as the community at large. Our past guests include: Nikki Giovanni, Terrence J, Kierra Sheard, 9th Wonder, the Virginia Symphony, Leila Fadel, Tshombe Shelby, Marc Hill, the cast of A Different World, and the US Navy Band. The Coastal Carolina Chapter Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) is running its Fall Membership Drive from September through December 2025.The Coastal Carolina Chapter is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization and is seeking enthusiastic, dedicated individuals who want to “continue to serve” and give back to their community. Membership is open to those who hold or have ever held a warrant or commission in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or Space Force and their surviving spouses. Our focus is college scholarships for military dependents, Toy for Tots, local JROTC and ROTC units, Wreathes Across America (WWA), and other community veteran support.

Harkers Island comes to life the first full weekend in December each year as the Core Sound Decoy Guild holds its annual Core Sound Decoy Festival. The first festival was held in 1988 and it has become an annual pilgrimage for many.
The festival has many attractions that include antique decoy exhibits, retriever demonstrations, and several types of competitions including decoys, shorebirds, head whittling. There’s always plenty of shopping opportunities from the many vendors who flock to the festival each year plus delicious food offerings.
