This nostalgic exhibit features signage from the Mitchell Slotnick Pepsi Collection. During the 20th century, signage evolved from its infancy to dominance in the field of advertising. This annual event raises money for the local high schools (Havelock, Jones Senior, New Bern, Pamlico, and West Craven) while also discussing the upcoming high school football season. Brian North from WCTI 12 will be the MC for the event. You will have the opportunity to hear from coaches and student-athletes about the upcoming season. This year we will have a roundtable with the athletic directors as they discuss the NCHSAA realignment and change from 4 classifications to 8 classifications in the state of North Carolina. We will also award our annual Goodwill Helmet Award to a community member for their work both on and off the football field.
There will be dinner catered by Moore's BBQ (BBQ, fried chicken, slaw, green beans, potato salad, and hush puppies) before the program begins.
