November 11th is China’s Singles Day, celebrating single people in China. It’s been embraced by retailers, and has become the biggest online shopping day in that country — and therefore the world.
The Chinese online retailer Alibaba says it brought in a record $9 billion on Singles Day this year. What does the phenomenon say about China — and where e-commerce is going?
