The Pitt County board of county commissioners is holding a public hearing Monday during their meeting at 6 p.m. on the proposed Voter District Plan. PRE’s Meredith Radford has more.
Based on the 2020 census, Pitt county commissioners decided to proceed with redistricting. Their redistricting plan seeks to even out population numbers between the six voting districts in Pitt County. The point of this hearing is to gather public input on the proposed voter districts before county commissioners consider them. The hearing will take place virtually — or in-person, at the Eugene James Auditorium in the county administrative building in Greenville. The board will consider adopting the 2021 redistricting plan at their Nov. meeting. For Public Radio East, I’m Meredith Radford.
