The Arts Council of Carteret County will hold its annual Art From The Heart adult and student art shows to showcase local artists and raise funds to support scholarships for area high school graduates to study the arts. The adult art show will run from January 30th to February 12th and the student art show will take place from February 17th to 27th. The show will be held in Atlantic Beach at the Atlantic Station shopping center, in the former Ernie’s Gift Store.Artist Max Dowdle, who recently completed the Legacy NC mural on the Carteret Community Theatre, will be judging the adult show. Cash prizes will be awarded in three categories: Two Dimensional; Three Dimensional, and Photography. Awards will be given at the opening reception, January 29th, 5:30–7:00 p.m. People’s Choice awards will be given at the end of the show.
For years the annual membership drive served as the primary source of support to carry the Historic Site through quiet winter seasons. Though winter is busier now, this event still plays a crucial role in providing essential funding to care for and maintain our valued grounds, gardens, and buildings.
Many members note this is a favorite BHA tradition. This is an open house event FREE to the community that welcomes new members and volunteers. Every historic building on the grounds will be open for hands-on exploration, learning, and discovery. Best of all, it’s for everyone – adults and kids alike!
Refreshments will be thoughtfully prepared by local businesses and generous volunteers. Helping hands and food sponsors are always needed and so if you are interested in volunteering or sponsoring, please call 252-728-5225.
Remember the RSVP so we know how many to expect! Invite friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, or anyone curious to learn more about the Historical Association. We offer a wide range of activities and events year-round with membership options beginning at just $25 for students and seniors, extending to the $5,000 Somerset Circle level. Each tier offers its own benefits. New memberships may be purchased at the Valentine Party or online at beauforthistoricsite.org under the shop tab.
For more information about the Valentine Party, new memberships, or membership renewal, stop by the Welcome Center at 130 Turner Street, or call us at 252-728-5225. To RSVP, please visit our website: https://beauforthistoricsite.org/event/membership-drive-valentine-party-5/
