Winnings may be picked up at HeartWorks, 709 Main Street, Bayboro, NC starting on Monday, 9/29 from 9 AM - 6 PM.Gift certificates will be mailed to the winners payment.
Your participation will benefit over 400 children and families who receive counseling and/or attend our free after-school and summer programs. HeartWorks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Bayboro, NC. Our mission is to address the underserved educational, mental and physical health needs of children and their families in Pamlico County and surrounding areas. Education and positive mental health are the cornerstone of our efforts. Nurturing is our method.”

Please join us for the 45th Annual New Bern Area CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, September 28th at Union Point Park, New Bern, NC. This year’s event will raise funds to address the nutritional and developmental needs of our neighbors in New Bern and around the globe. Faith Connection is the host partner for the New Bern Area CROP Hunger Walk, an outreach of Church World Service. Locally, Religious Community Services (RCS) will receive 25% of the proceeds.
In 2024, we had 34 teams consisting of more than 500 walkers who raised over $52,000 to fight food insecurity. Participants can choose between the 3.1 mile or 1 mile walk. There will be music and refreshments available. Invite your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to this fun, family-friendly event with music and activities for all ages.

Want to take home some of that fall blooming splendor? The Fall Heritage Plant Sale will be held Friday and Saturday on the Daves House Lawn just inside the Palace main gate. This annual plant sale offers a selection of plants grown locally and in the Palace’s nursery yard, as well as a wide variety of perennials, herbs and other fall favorites. Supplies are limited so come early for the best selection.

The Ocracoke Preservation Society is hosting first Historic Home Tour since Hurricane Dorian! To be held Friday November 28, 2025, the tour will feature four historic homes and culminate with a sneak peek and storytelling at the Island Inn. That will be followed by holiday lighting of the public Commons, Parade of Boats, and a concert by Ocrafolk Opry at Ocracoke Alive’s Deepwater Theatre.
