Rivertowne Players invites you to embark on an enchanting journey with Anastasia: The Musical, Directed by Harry Fitzgerald IV and performed at the historic Masonic Theatre from December 5 to December 14, 2025. Inspired by the legend of Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna, this captivating production transports audiences from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the vibrant streets of 1920s Paris.
Follow Anya, a spirited young woman on a quest to uncover her past, as she joins forces with Dmitry and Vlad in an extraordinary adventure to claim a reward from the Dowager Empress in Paris. Their daring journey is filled with mystery, danger, romance, and the possibility that Anya might truly be Anastasia.
Featuring a lush score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, including beloved songs like "Journey to the Past" and "Once Upon a December," Anastasia: The Musical is a rich and emotional experience for audiences of all ages.

The Masonic Theatre opened in 1805, it was once the cultural heart of New Bern, hosting stage plays, talent benefits, concerts, and vaudeville acts. During the Civil War, it served as a Confederate arsenal and later as a hospital for Union soldiers. In 1917, it was converted into a motion picture theater, operating continuously until 1974, making it the nation's oldest continually operating theatre.
