Treasures at Tea Time
Treasures at Tea Time
Treasures at Tea Time is an event that aims to teach about life in the Revolutionary War era; this is the second annual tea. The program starts with presentations by five women important in that time and afterward. Members of the Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution take on the characters of these women (including period dress) to share details about their lives and the impact they had on history. Women that will be portrayed are Martha Washington, Abigail Adams, Dolly Madison, Rebecca Sherman and Lucy Knox. After the program, tea will be served as it was in colonial times: tea sandwiches, something savory, and something sweet. All proceeds will be used to fund scholarships for Craven Community College students.
