Solar Development in North Carolina
Solar Development in North Carolina
This month’s topic is “Solar Development in North Carolina” with guest speaker John Eskew from Cypress Creek Renewables in Durham. He will discuss the challenges faced in developing solar power across the state and meeting these challenges as the industry grows.
Eskew has been in the solar industry for roughly 6 years, first as a Performance Analyst and Operations Engineer and currently as a Project Developer, focusing on Utility-Scale Solar and Battery Storage development in the Carolinas. A UNC Chapel Hill alumni and NC native, John is passionate about bringing clean energy to the Tarheel state. His presentation on September 10 will focus on common development challenges and strategies for achieving project success.
There will also be a short presentation by Pamlico-Tar River keeper, Katey Zimmerman from Sound Rivers. She will talk about the “trash trap” that Cypress Group will be helping to empty of refuse---a new initiative for the group.
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Admission is free. To participate virtually, join via Zoom using the following link at 7 pm:
