Indigenous People: The First Environmentalists
Carolina Nature Coalition is pleased to host Stan Allen and his presentation, Indigenous People: The First Environmentalists. Stan, born and raised in North Carolina, is authoring a book on Native Americans of Eastern North Carolina which include the Lumbee and Haliwa-Saponi people. He will discuss how traditional, pre-European, indigenous people utilized the land and natural resources, and will examine their forest management techniques. Stan's fascinating presentation will include photos and artifacts.
