Handblown glass holiday sale and Merry Tuba Christmas
A handblown glass holiday sale will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 1 in the East Carolina University College of Fine Arts and Communication office in the Proctor-Yongue House on Fifth Street, across from the Jenkins Fine Arts Center, in conjunction with the First Friday Art Walk. The sale continues from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 2, featuring the School of Music's Merry Tuba Christmas playing on the front porch. Glass ornaments, flowers, vases, cups, bowls and sculptures made at ECU’s GlasStation will be available for purchase with proceeds supporting the facility and program in the School of Art and Design. The Merry Tuba Christmas performance starts at noon with traditional holiday songs arranged for a large ensemble of tubas, baritones, euphoniums and sousaphones. A VIP sale for supporters and donors to the college (Friends of the School of Art and Design, School of Music, School of Theatre and Dance, S. Rudolph Alexander Performing Arts Series) will be Nov. 30.
