Auditions for "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum"

Auditions for "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum"

Travel back to ancient Rome in the classic comedy A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Forum. Featuring a score by the legendary Stephen Sondheim, the original 1962 Broadway production won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

A Funny Thing Happened… is a nonstop laugh-fest in which Pseudolus, a crafty Roman slave, struggles to win the hand of a beautiful, but slow-witted, courtesan named Philia for his young master, Hero, in exchange for freedom. The plot twists and turns with cases of mistaken identity, slamming doors, and a few trips around the seven hills of Rome…and a showgirl or two.

Be ready for a cold reading; prepared audition monologues welcomed. Please prepare a short song (of your choice). Show dates are Feb. 22-25 and Feb. 29 – March 2 (9 shows). MAC is located at 1703 East 14th Street (behind Royal Farms). For more information, call 252-468-8708 or mitchatmagnolia@yahoo.com.
