ECU Health announced on Thursday that it is closing its COVID-19 testing sites on Friday, July 29. According to a news release, a decrease in demand for testing ---- combined with more convenient options, like at-home testing, were reasons the health system gave for shuttering more than a dozen testing sites across the region. The closure will affect 141 team members that were hired specifically to help support the health system’s COVID response. ECU Health says it is providing human resources and talent acquisition support to all team members interested in applying for open positions within the health system. During the pandemic, more than 800-thousand COVID tests were conducted at the testing sites. ECU Health is a financial supporter of PRE.
