Camp Lejeune Marine Task Force Deploys To Quantico On Mission To Help Afghans

More than 700 Marines and Sailors from Camp Lejeune’s II Marine Expeditionary Force in Jacksonville are deploying to Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia this week to help Afghan Refugees. According to a press release, Operation Allies Refuge is a mission to provide Afghans with temporary housing, sustainment and support inside the United States in response to the State Department’s request for Department of Defense assistance.

The press release said the safety and security of DoD families, communities and vulnerable Afghans will remain a priority throughout the mission.
