Step Afrika! blends percussive dance styles and traditional African dances; and an array of contemporary dance and art forms into a cohesive, compelling artistic experience. Performances are much more than dance shows; they integrate songs, storytelling, humor and audience participation. The blend of technique, agility, and pure energy makes each performance unique and leaves the audience with their hearts pounding.

Community Connections: Performance and Lecture Series bridges Elizabeth City State University and community. Our mission is to produce cultural experiences which can be enjoyed by students, faculty, and staff, as well as the community at large. Our past guests include: Nikki Giovanni, Terrence J, Kierra Sheard, 9th Wonder, the Virginia Symphony, Leila Fadel, Tshombe Shelby, Marc Hill, the cast of A Different World, and the US Navy Band.
