President to pardon two North Carolina turkeys ahead of Thanksgiving

In 2021, Peanut Butter, the National Thanksgiving Turkey, was pardoned during by President Joe Biden during a Friday ceremony at the White House.

The White House says President Joe Biden plans to pardon two male turkeys from North Carolina next week as part of the 2022 Thanksgiving celebration.

The turkeys were raised near Monroe. Their names haven’t been released yet.

It’s the 75th anniversary of the National Thanksgiving Turkey presentation.

North Carolina also provided this year’s Capitol Christmas Tree, named Ruby, which made a stop in eastern North Carolina over the weekend.
