Southwest Airlines is warning some 6,800 employees they could be temporarily furloughed if the carrier can’t agree on cost-cutting measures with its labor unions. And, the pandemic continues to depress demand for travel in the air and on the ground with gas consumption hitting the lowest levels since 1997 this Thanksgiving week.
