Trump Sparks Debate Over Security Of Mail-In Voting

President Trump falsely claimed on Twitter Tuesday that widespread mail-in voting in California would be “substantially fraudulent,” sparking a debate over the security and efficacy of absentee ballots.

The conversation carries added weight in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, as it remains unclear whether in-person voting may be completely safe by November. However, previously larger election security threats, like deceptive video and audio recordings, have lost much of their bite in the wake of COVID-19.
