Michigan Auto Industry Begins Reopening Amid Worker Worries

Auto parts manufacturing plants in Michigan are open this week for the first time since March.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced last week that the plants could reopen with social distancing measures. The move comes as preparation to reopen the rest of the state’s auto industry, including big automakers like Ford Motor Company and General Motors. But workers are nervous about going back to crowded plants as the coronavirus continuest to spread across the country.

Phoebe Wall Howard (@phoebesaid) of the Detroit Free Press talks to host Tonya Mosley about the latest from Michigan.
