India’s Prime Minister Narenda Modi paid a surprise visit to Pakistan’s prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, today. The two met in the eastern city of Lahore, in a hopeful sign of easing tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. The two countries have fought three wars with each other since 1947.
The BBC’s Owen Bennett-Jones joins Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson to discuss what this visit could mean for future relations.
