Mountain Stage
Lee Ann Womack.

Lee Ann Womack appears on Mountain Stage, recorded live at the West Virginia University's College of Creative Arts in Morgantown. One of country music's most beloved singers, Womack has the rare distinction of having earned the respect and admiration of fans of traditional and contemporary sounds alike. A native of Texas, Womack moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University. She signed a record deal and in 1997 released her self-titled debut, which reached the Top 10.

Womack's inescapable hit "I Hope You Dance" was a bona fide crossover classic, and cemented her place as a mainstream country superstar. But she never strayed far from the traditional music she grew up with, in sound or sensibility. She once told an interviewer for No Depression magazine that she's always aspired to be more like Ricky Skaggs than Garth Brooks. Womack's career-spanning Mountain Stage set includes songs from her latest release, The Way I'm Livin', and features her road-tested band, led by bassist Sam Grisman.
