This year began with a missing plane; 239 souls lost to this day somewhere off the coast of Australia.
It would mark the beginning of a year with loss and conflict, disease and divide. It was the start of a year with many questions and few answers, from the self-proclaimed Islamic State in the Middle East to West Africa’s Ebola crisis and many stories at home in the U.S.
