Uber is raising more money as it expands its business beyond having cars on call. The tech news site Re/code reports that Uber has a messenger service in New York, an experiment in delivering household goods in Washington D.C. and another experiment in food delivery in Southern California. And Uber recently hired the head of Google Express same-day service.

Re/code senior editor Liz Gannes discusses this with Here & Now’s Robin Young.
