The White House has been pushing for an increase to the federal minimum wage, and it’s a top issue for Democrats.

Vice President Joe Biden — who gave the weekly address for the White House — said the country’s economy has improved, but workers are long overdue for wage increases.

NPR’s senior business editor Marilyn Geewax tells Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson why this issue may figure significantly during midterm elections in November.
