'Snow Hunters': A Beautiful Debut Novel Grounded In History
Paul Yoon's new novel, Snow Hunters, follows a Korean War POW who starts a new life in Brazil. Yoon drew on his own family's experiences to write the book, and reviewer Alana Levinson says his "ruminations on the role of memory in shaping our identity speak perfectly to the experience of war."
Word Usage Heats Up Internet, 'Literally'
Traditionally, literally means something that is strictly true. Google's dictionary, bloggers noticed, says you can also use it for emphasis. Like, "I would literally give my right arm to own a pickup truck." Grammar sticklers claim Google has sided with language traitors and broken the English language.
