North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper said on Wednesday that the state will stay paused in Safer at Home Phase 2 for another five weeks.

Two Eastern North Carolina district court judges were appointed by Gov. Roy Cooper Tuesday. PRE’s Meredith Radford has more.

Kinston native Christopher Rogerson will be District Court Judge in District 8, serving Greene, Lenoir and Wayne counties. He’s filling the vacant seat of retired Judge Charles P. Gaylor, III. Rogerson is the owner and solo practitioner at the Law Office of Christopher A. Rogerson.

Craig James will be District Court Judge in District 11, serving Johnston, Harnett and Lee counties. He’s filling the vacant seat of retired Judge Addie Rawls. James is the owner and solo practitioner at the Law Office of Craig James, and he brings over two decades of experience practicing in district and superior courts.

For Public Radio East, I’m Meredith Radford.
