Carteret County officials announced Thursday the charge and conviction of four individuals after a multiyear narcotics investigation into trafficking and distribution of large amounts of cocaine in the area. The investigation was a joint effort between the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office and other local law enforcement officials.

According to a news release, the four men, Malcom Adams, Barton Greene, Carlton Nolon and Bruta Murrell, were arrested on federal indictments and charged with various drug related offenses. They all pleaded guilty to charges involving possession and distribution of drugs, among other charges. Throughout the investigation, Carteret’s sheriff’s office seized almost 2,000 grams of cocaine, almost 2,000 grams of marijuana, and other substances including MDMA, ecstasy, morphine, a handgun and over $30,000.
