Major street in Uptown Greenville to temporarily close for construction

Uptown Greenville road closed for construction.
City of Greenville

Part of a major street in the Uptown district of Greenville is scheduled to be closed for construction beginning Wednesday. PRE’s Meredith Radford has more.

Weather permitting, Evans Street will be closed near its intersection with East Fifth Street in Greenville starting Wednesday morning -- to allow for construction on the building located at 501 Evans Street. According to a news release, the closure is expected to last around three days.

Northbound motorists will be directed onto Dickinson Avenue and South Greene Street, while southbound motorists will be detoured onto Reade Circle and Dickinson Avenue.

All parking lots north of the detour route will remain accessible.
