Onslow County Schools says the principal of Southwest Elementary School, Betsy Castle, died unexpectedly yesterday evening. No further details were provided in a news release from the district.
Additional district staff and the Onslow County Schools Crisis Team are at the school today to provide support, and will be there for as long as needed.
The release said Castle was much loved by all and her loss will be felt tremendously by the entire Onslow County Schools family.
