North Carolina set another record Wednesday for the highest single-day number of positive tests and new COVID-19 cases. The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services’ COVID-19 dashboard shows 20,770 new COVID-19 cases since Tuesday. The daily percent of positive cases is now 31.8%. 3,099 people are currently hospitalized with the virus statewide. In the last 24 hours, 481 confirmed COVID patients were admitted to Intensive Care Units. 37 North Carolinians died from COVID-19 since yesterday. NCDHHS reports 70% of the State’s adult population are fully vaccinated and 74% have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine.
