Vidant Health Begins Scheduling Extra COVID-19 Vaccine Doses For Immunocompromised People

Vidant Health, based in Greenville, has announced they are scheduling appointments online for immunocompromised individuals to receive an additional dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to a news release. The release said this third dose may prevent serious and possibly life-threatening COVID-19 in immunocompromised people who may not have responded to their initial vaccine doses. This dose is recommended for those with compromised immune systems at least 28 days after their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, and is not recommended for those who received the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. Additional COVID-19 doses are not offered to any other population at this time through Vidant Health, the release said. You can schedule a vaccine appointment at Vidant at VidantHealth.com/Vaccinate.

Vidant is a financial supporter of PRE.
