A global life science services company announced an expansion that will add 500 new jobs in Greenville over the next two years. Thermo Fisher Scientific plans to invest approximately $500 million dollars to expand its sterile drug product development and commercial manufacturing of medicines, therapies and vaccines. According to a news release from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, the company will build a new, 130,000 square-foot facility with two live-virus filling lines which will be operational in 2022. The company already employs about 1,500 people at its Greenville campus.
