Artie Crawford (Pierce Brosnan) is a World War II veteran living in a care home in Northern Ireland who has just lost his wife. He is experiencing unsettling flashbacks from the war. On the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, Artie decides to escape the care home to embark on a challenging journey to France. His goal is to pay his final respects to his best friend and find the courage to confront the ghosts of his past.
