Calendar Girls

Calendar Girls

Calendar Girls will be presented by the Museum Players in our Reader's Theater/Radio Drama fashion. (Friday & Saturday performances at 7pm, Sunday matinee at 3pm). $10 admission to benefit the Wayne County Museum.
The Goldsboro Woman's Club did lots of charitable work to better the local community. Calendar Girls is based on the true story of an English women's club (W.I. aka Women's Institute) that did the same. The play's plot is as follows: When Annie's husband John dies of leukemia, she and best friend Chris resolve to raise money for a new settee in the local hospital waiting room. They manage to persuade four fellow members to pose nude with them for an "alternative" calendar. The news of the women's charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on the small village in the Yorkshire Dales.
"Calendar Girls” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com.
