Campus operations at an eastern North Carolina college are under new management after a sudden shakeup.
The James Sprunt Community College Board of Trustees has placed school president Dr. Shannon Hair on administrative leave after just six months on the job. The decision follows a board meeting last week.
College officials have appointed associate vice president Jeff Taylor to take over immediately as acting president to ensure school operations continue without interruption.
Board leadership and the state community college system have declined to give a reason for the sudden change, citing strict privacy laws regarding personnel matters.
