Commuters at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point face extended detours after weather-related delays pushed back a major base construction project.
Officials announced that Slocum Gate will now remain closed until Friday. Recent storms halted progress on critical infrastructure and security upgrades that began in early July.
Drivers must continue using alternate access points, including the 24-hour Main Gate and Cunningham Gate.
