Foaling season on the Outer Banks is winding down, but a new filly was born in the Corolla herd last weekend.

Officials with the Corolla Wild Horse Fund said the herd has welcomed nine new members so far this year - six fillies, two colts, and one whose gender has not been confirmed.

It's not completely out of the ordinary to have a foal born later in the fall, so the fund said there still may be one or two on the way.
