Cape Lookout National Seashore officials said a young harbor seal was recently spotted Core Banks.
National Park Service Rangers said seals require a safe and quiet environment to rest when they are not feeding.
Those that encounter a seal on the beach are asked to prioritize safety and the animal's well-being by maintaining a distance of at least 50 yards and minimizing disturbance.
