Extra patrols at ENC school after unsubstantiated rumor about safety

The Morehead City police chief is assuring people in the community that they are aware of an as-yet unsubstantiated rumor concerning school safety this week.

Chief Bryan Dixon said they take every report -- no matter how far-fetched or their professional opinions on its validity – seriously and they respond.

Dixon said they will have extra officers on campus no matter how improbable the rumors may be.
