Third ENC tornado Tuesday night confirmed, this one near Ernul

The National Weather Service is surveying storm damage in Bayview in to determine if it may have been caused by a tornado on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado in Craven County during the severe storms on Tuesday night.

Meteorologists in Newport say the EF1, with peak winds of 90 mph, formed along Highway 17 near Ernul at about 8 pm.

It was on the ground for about 8 minutes before lifting north of Hills Neck Road.
