A North Carolina animal services unit is taking time to thank all the Good Samaritans who take the time to help animals in need, after a litter of puppies was found abandoned and in danger along the side of the road.
Four puppies were found in the suitcase that was zipped nearly all of the way closed, and officials with Guilford County Animal Services said people passing by saw the suitcase moving and stopped.
They were shocked by what they found, and officials said the Good Samaritans immediately took the puppies to the shelter – saving four lives.
Shelter leaders said the puppies will be medically evaluated and hopefully up for adoption or rescue soon.
