Weekly gas price average falls eight cents in North Carolina

Gas prices have fallen markedly, and may continue to dip further, according to AAA.

Average gasoline prices in North Carolina have fallen eight cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.39 cents per gallon on Monday, according to GasBuddy's survey of more than 6,000 stations in the Tarheel State.

Prices here are 26.7 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 45 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

The national average price of diesel declined 5.5 cents since last week and currently stands at $5.01 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in North Carolina was priced at $2.98 per gallon on Monday and the most expensive was $4.79 per gallon.

The national average price of gasoline Monday was $3.67/ per gallon.
