The N.C. Office of Recovery and Resiliency has announced that $19.4 million is available to local governments for shovel-ready projects that improve community resiliency. The funding will be allocated by October for affordable multi-family housing in areas located outside of the 100-year floodplain. The funding is available to 16 Eastern North Carolina counties federally identified as most impacted and distressed due to losses from hurricanes Matthew and Florence. According to a news release, an online application is available at the Affordable Housing Development Fund website. A virtual technical assistance webinar for grant applicants is planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Sept. 16.
