1,226 acre Juniper Road Two Fire now 65% contained

Officials say the Juniper Road Two Fire is now 65% contained. On Wednesday, the N.C. Forest Service said in a news release that firefighting crews have held the fire to 1,226 acres over the last several days. As fire containment efforts continue, NCFS is also monitoring the weather as significant heat continues to affect the fire area. According to a news release, about 80 personnel continue to work the fire as certain resources are demobilized. A temporary flight restriction within 5 miles of the fire will remain in effect for all civilian aircraft until aviation support is no longer needed.
