NC communities receive funding for water and wastewater projects

North Carolina communities will receive a record $789 million dollars to pay for water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the state. Gov. Roy Cooper announced the funding Wednesday, which will go to a total of 385 projects in North Carolina. In Duplin County, more than $1.3 million was awarded to install waterlines and 20 new services to disadvantaged areas. The town of Fairmont in Robeson County will receive $15 million for wastewater collection system rehabilitation. About $1.1 million will be allocated to provide water connections to disadvantaged areas in Edgecombe County.
