An inmate at Bertie Correctional Institution in Windsor has died after an apparent suicide. The State Department of Public Safety says in a news release that 40-year-old Henry Bost was found unresponsive in his cell around 5 p.m. Wednesday. The prison’s First Responders performed life-saving measures until paramedics arrived. They also worked to resuscitate the offender but were unsuccessful. Law enforcement and DPS are investigating the death. Bost was serving a nine-year, 11-month sentence for robbery with a deadly weapon after being convicted in Mecklenburg County.
