The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has announced efforts to reinvigorate its program for the recovery of endangered red wolves in the wild in Northeastern North Carolina.  PRE’s Jared Brumbaugh has an update on how that recovery is going and a new habitat improvement effort benefiting wildlife, including the red wolves.

The Prey for the Pack program is a collaboration between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and North Carolina Wildlife Federation to implement habitat improvement projects within the red wolf recovery area.

On February 1, 2022, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service held a virtual meeting to discuss its revitalized plan for red wolf recovery and the release of nine red wolves into the wild.
