New Executive Director announced for Kinston’s Global TransPark

A new leader of the North Carolina Global TransPark has been announced. Preston Hunter, North Carolina Department of Transportation Division 2 engineer has been named the new executive director of the multimodal industrial site in Kinston. Hunter, a native of Lenoir County, has been with NCDOT for more than three decades and has been the engineer leading operations for the department’s Kinston based Highway Division 2 since 2017. According to a news release, Hunter will replace John Rouse who served as the executive director since October 2019. Rouse, who recently announced his retirement, helped the Global TransPark secure more than 600 jobs and over $16 million dollars in investments.
